Overview
The HP Network Protector SDN Application uses electronic licenses. Each electronic license is an

The application electronic licenses are of two types:
HP Net Protector SDN App 250 User E-LTU
JL004AAE HP Net Protector SDN App 250 User E-LTU is an HP Network Protector SDN Application
base license. The application base license that you purchase never expires. You need to purchase
at least one application base license. The number of base licenses you need is determined by the
maximum number of concurrent users using the application in an active session. The duration of
each active session is 15 minutes and the maximum number of users that can connect to the
application is 4,000.
For example, if you buy four 250–user HP Network Protector SDN Application base licenses, the
maximum number of users with the application in an active session is 1,000 (4×250).
NOTE: The HP Network Protector SDN Application user is a unique pair of a MAC and an IP
address.
HP Net Protector RepDV subscription license
Use the HP Net Protector RepDV licenses to subscribe to the RepDV database. The HP Network
Protector RepDV subscription licenses expire after a period of one year. There are four HP Network
Protector RepDV subscription licenses, which cater to 250, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 users. The
HP Network Protector RepDV subscription license you need is determined by the number of users
using the application base licenses.
For example, if you buy four 250–user HP Network Protector SDN Application base licenses (1,000
users), then you purchase the HP Network Protector RepDV subscription licenses for 1,000 or more
than 1,000 users.
If you do not buy HP Network Protector RepDV subscription license, you can use the application
with your own custom blacklist or whitelist entries. However, you will not be able to access the
TippingPoint RepDV database. If you do not renew your HP Network Protector RepDV subscription
licenses after expiry, you can access the RepDV database, but you will not receive the RepDV
updates from the TippingPoint server.
