1 Overview
This guide provides you with information about installing HP Network Optimizer SDN Application
- Microsoft Lync (Net Optimizer - Lync) on the HP VAN SDN Controller, including initial
configurations required before applying the QoS function to Lync calls. Before the installation
procedure, ensure that:
• You have administrator authority.
• The HP VAN SDN Controller has been installed and configured normally.
• You are familiar with OpenFlow and have OpenFlow configured and enabled on the network
switches to be used by Net Optimizer - Lync.
Net Optimizer - Lync provides a visible and flexible solution to monitor the Lync calls and avoid
falling into the best effort category. As a network administrator, you can troubleshoot problems
and optimize the quality of Lync calls by leveraging the history record data.
