IMPORTANT: First read the installation instructions provided in the Lync SDN API 2 0
Release Notes.doc, which is packaged with the download for Microsoft Lync SDN API, for
an overview of the requirements. Then, follow the installation steps in this section to provide the
custom settings required by Net Optimizer - Lync.
To install Microsoft Lync SDN API and Lync SDN Manager:
1. Download Microsoft Lync SDN API from:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39714
2. Install LSM by double-clicking LyncSDNManager.exe.
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind:
LSM must be installed on a separate server not running the Lync SDN Manager or
virtualized instance of a Lync SDN Manager.
Microsoft’s Lync SDN API release notes state that Windows Server 2012 and 2008 are
the only platforms on which LSM can be installed. HP recommends that you follow
Microsoft recommendations. However, if you encounter installation problems with those
platforms, you can try installing LSM on Windows 7 Professional x64, Windows 7 Ultimate
x64, or Windows 7 Enterprise x64. HP testers have successfully installed and used LSM
on those platforms.
3. Follow the prompts for installing LSM. When you are prompted for the Submit, provide the
following address to the server HP VAN SDN Controller:
https://VAN_CONTROLLER_HOSTNAME:8443/sdn/lyncqos/v1.0/session
Provide the DNS name and not the server’s IP address.
