HP Network Optimizer SDN Application - Microsoft Lync 1.0 Administrator Guide
• QoE Status—This parameter appears only when the session you selected is in Inactive status.
It shows the QoE status of the session, which is determined by the threshold of jitter. The QoE
statuses include:
◦ Good—The Lync session is terminated without any QoE violation, meaning that the average
jitter value of the session is lower than 20 ms.
◦ Tolerate—The Lync session is terminated with a QoE violation, but within the tolerant
range, meaning that the average jitter value of the session is higher than 20 ms, but lower
than 45 ms.
◦ Bad—The Lync session is terminated with a QoE violation, and with user-noticeable
performance degradation, meaning that the average jitter value of the session is higher
than 45 ms.
NOTE: After a Lync session starts, the QoE status is until the session ends. After the session
ends, the Net Optimizer - Lync displays the QoE status of the session based on the quality of
the session.
• Duration—Length of the session.
The Flow entries table presents the detailed information of all flows of the session you selected. All
flows, current or historical, are listed in chronological order.
Flow entries contents
• Direction—Direction in which the flow is transferred.
• Source DPID/Port—Data path identifier and port number of the source client that initiated the
flow.
• Dest DPID/Port—Data path identifier and port number of the destination client that received
the flow.
• Desired DSCP—DSCP Value corresponding to the media type. This value is predefined in the
Net Optimizer - Lync and is applied to the Lync flows matching the media type on edge
switches. For more information about DSCP settings, see “DSCP settings.”
• Configured DSCP—The actual DSCP value of the flow. If the DSCP marking to the flow is
successful, the value of this parameter is the same as that of Desired DSCP.
• Status—Indicates whether the DSCP marking to the flow is successful. If not, this field displays
the Best effort reason for the flow.
◦ Flow entry configured—The desired DSCP value is applied to the flow successfully.
◦ Switch out of resource—The DSCP marking to the flow failed due to a FlowMod error or
because the flow table is full.
◦ Unrecognized host—The DSCP marking to the flow failed because Lync client host cannot
be found in the HP VAN SDN Controller topology. For instance, the host does not exist
in your network. For more information about HP VAN SDN Controller topology, see HP
VAN SDN Controller Administrator Guide.
◦ Over grace license limit—The DSCP marking to the flow failed because the maximum
number of concurrent users in active sessions exceeds the number of grace users when
the flow occurs.
◦ No active license—The DSCP marking to the flow failed because no active license is
installed for the Net Optimizer - Lync.
◦ Hard phone VLAN—The Net Optimizer - Lync did not apply DSCP value to the flow
because the flow was transferred from or to a hard VoIP phone in a hard phone VLAN.
