HP Network Optimizer SDN Application - Microsoft Lync 1.0 Administrator Guide
Configuring Lync SDN Managers
Net Optimizer - Lync identifies a Lync SDN Manager by its static IP address. Before the Net
Optimizer - Lync can manage the QoS deployment for Lync calls from a Lync SDN Manager, you
must add that server to the Net Optimizer - Lync.
The Lync SDN Manager configuration dialog box permits you to add or delete Lync SDN Managers
as needed.
Adding a Lync SDN Manager
1. In the Configurations page, click the Display icon to the left of Lync SDN Managers.
The Lync SDN Manager configuration dialog box appears.
2. Enter the IP address of the Lync SDN Manager that you want to add in the New IP Address
box.
3. Click Add.
4. After you add all Lync SDN Managers, verify that the section is active, as indicated by its
blue heading (Figure 10 shows an example), and then click Apply on the top of the
configuration page.
A Status dialog box displays indicating whether the operation is successful.
5. In the Status dialog box, click Close.
After a Lync SDN Manager is added to the Net Optimizer - Lync, its reachability is displayed
alongside its IP address. For a newly added Lync SDN Manager, the system might take a few
minutes to display its reachability in the Lync SDN Manager table.
Alternatively, you can view the reachability of the newly added Lync SDN Manager in the Lync
SDN Managers page. To check the status of a Lync SDN Manager, see “Verifying status of a Lync
SDN Manager.”
Deleting a registered Lync SDN Manager
1. In the Configurations page, click the Display icon to the left of Lync SDN Managers.
The Lync SDN Manager configuration dialog box appears.
2. In the Lync SDN Manager table, select the IP address of the Lync SDN Manager you want to
delete.
3. Click Delete.
4. Verify that the section is active, as indicated by its blue heading (Figure 10 shows an example),
and then click Apply on the top of the configuration page.
A Status dialog box displays to indicate whether the operation is successful.
5. In the Status dialog box, click Close.
After the Lync SDN Manager record is removed from the Lync SDN Manager table, Net Optimizer
- Lync cannot apply QoS policies to the Lync calls from the Lync SDN Manager.
Verifying status of a Lync SDN Manager
After you add a Lync SDN Manager to the Net Optimizer - Lync, verify that the Lync SDN Manager
is reachable.
To check status of a Lync SDN Manager:
1. Click Net Optimizer - Lync from the navigation tree, and then click Lync SDN Managers.
A Lync SDN Manager list displays all the registered Lync SDN Managers and their statuses.
2. Locate the newly added Lync SDN Manager according to its IP address from the Lync SDN
Manager list.
