6 Configuring Net Optimizer - Lync
Configuring your switches
When you add a switch to your network, verify that the switch has the following settings:
At least one controller instance containing the controller ID.
OpenFlow enabled.
OpenFlow in passive mode, which is a requirement for hybrid mode. Hybrid mode lets a
switch support VLANs in OpenFlow mode while also supporting VLANs running in traditional
mode using traditional protocols.
NOTE: For details on how to set these configurations, refer to the latest edition of the HP Switch
Software OpenFlow Administrator's Guide.
Accessing the Configurations page
You can access the Configurations page using one of the following methods:
Navigation menu
1. Click the Expand icon on the top of the main frame.
The Net Optimizer - Lync navigation menu appears.
2. Select Net Optimizer - LyncConfigurations to enter the Configurations page.
Navigation tree
1. If the navigation tree is hidden, move the cursor over the left margin, and then click the
highlighted Hide/Expand icon .
The navigation tree appears on the left of the main frame.
2. Click Net Optimizer - Lync from the navigation tree, and then click Configurations.
The Configurations page appears.
You can use the Configuration page to:
Configure hard phone VLANs to not be applied with QoS policy via Net Optimizer - Lync
Configure VLANs with no Best effort remarking
Configure gateways for crossing SDN domain boundary
Enable or disable anonymous mode
Enabling anonymous mode deletes information about the caller and callee from call data
stored in the Net Optimizer - Lync database.
Configure Lync SDN Managers
Configure Lync FE servers
Configure and verify DSCP settings
Configuring hard phone VLANs to not be applied with QoS policy via Net
Optimizer - Lync
Usually, the QoS policies for the hard VoIP Lync calls are predefined and applied to hard phone
calls on the core network devices. These QoS policies are predefined by the network administrators
and might be different from those you configured in the Net Optimizer - Lync. To avoid the conflict
