HP Network Optimizer SDN Application - Microsoft Lync 1.0 Administrator Guide
After you access the Dashboard page or click Refresh:
• The Lync SDN Manager Status chart displays the current status of Lync SDN Managers.
• The other three charts depend on information from the Network Optimizer – Lync database.
Net Optimizer - Lync polls the database every three minutes. You can predict when you will
need to refresh the page, displaying the dashboard, by adding three minutes to the last display
time in the Active Sessions/Users in Time and QoE Metrics charts on the dashboard.
Take the Active Sessions/Users in Time (Figure 5), for example, if the last display time is
13:32:50, then the next time you need to refresh the chart is after 13:35:50, which is the
next time the Net Optimizer - Lync polls the database. If you refresh the chart at any time
between 13:32:51 and 13:35:49, the Active Sessions/Users in Time chart is still displaying
the data at 13:32:50 because the Net Optimizer - Lync has not polled the database for the
latest information yet.

NOTE: You can also refresh the dashboard views using the browser refresh function. This operation
refreshes all components of Net Optimizer - Lync and might take more time than the refresh function
provided by the dashboard.

Net Optimizer - Lync license limits
The Active Sessions/Users In Time chart helps you understand the Net Optimizer - Lync license
limits, including:
• Concurrent users—A Lync users who is communicating through a Lync client at the same time
as one or more other users. The number of concurrent users allowed by the Net Optimizer -
Lync is decided by the Net Optimizer - Lync license you bought.
• Licensed users—A Lync user who is caller or callee in a Lync call deployed with QoS policies
by the Net Optimizer - Lync.
When the number of concurrent users in active sessions reaches 90% of the total number of
licensed users allowed, Net Optimizer - Lync generates the following warning on the Event
Logs page:
