Activating the license for the application on HP VAN SDN Controller
To activate a license on the controller:
1. Copy the license key into the Add field in the License GUI.
2. To activate the license, click on the Add button. The active license is now displayed.
License warning and error messages
When a new session occurs, Net Optimizer - Lync checks the status of license usage and determines
if it should apply predefined DSCP values to the new flows and if it needs to generate a warning
or error message.

The total number of concurrent users in active sessions does
not reach 90% of the total number of licensed users
allowed.
For example, if you bought a 100–user license, you would
see this scenario when the total number of concurrent users
in active sessions is less than 90 users.
Net Optimizer - Lync continues to apply predefined DSCP
values to new flows and also generates the following
warning on the Event Logs page:
The total number of concurrent users in active sessions
reaches 90% of the total number of licensed users allowed.
For example, if you bought a 100–user license, you would
see this scenario when the total number of concurrent users
in active sessions reaches more than 90 users.
License is over 90 percent limit: Net Optimizer - Lync
The number of license users falling into the grace limit is
indicated by the Active Sessions/Users in Time quadrant
on the Dashboard.

Net Optimizer - Lync stops applying predefined DSCP
values to new flows and generates the following error
message on the Event Logs page:
The total number of concurrent users in active sessions
exceeds the license limit of 120% of licensed users.
For example, if you bought a 100–user license, you would
see this scenario when the total number of concurrent users
in active sessions exceeds 120 users.
License is over grace limit: Net Optimizer - Lync
The number of users over the license is indicated by the
Over Grace License Limit column on the Best Effort Reasons
quadrant on the Dashboard.
