README for HP Neoview Release 2.5 (R2.5)

Introduction
This README describes the new features in Neoview Release 2.5 of the HP Neoview Data
Warehousing Platform for Business Intelligence. The README also mentions where to download
client software and where to find documentation. Your HP representative can help you determine
the release level of software currently installed on your Neoview platform.
Release Version Identifier Naming Convention for Hardware Platforms
The Neoview platform denotes the software version by using a release version identifier, such
as Release 2.4, Release 2.4 Service Pack 2, and Release 2.4-P Service Pack 2. The release identifier
applies to software running on Neoview platform-based Integrity rx2620 and Integrity rx2660
servers, and Neoview BladeSystems.
Where there is a need to distinguish between the hardware platform for a given release version,
a -N at the end of a release version identifier specifies Neoview platform based Integrity rx2620
and Integrity rx2660 servers, and a -P at the end of a release version identifier specifies Neoview
BladeSystems. For more information, contact your HP representative.
Where to Download Client Software
Client software, which enables you to connect to and manage the Neoview platform, can be
downloaded from the HP Software Depot:
www.software.hp.com
To locate the Neoview client software in HP Software Depot, either:
• Type Neoview in the search field, and press Enter.
• In the Featured Products section of the same Web page, click the HP Neoview Platform
link.
To use the client software introduced in this release or to take advantage of new features and
fixes, you must download and install the latest client software. The Software Depot pages provide
a brief description of each client software product and provide access to installation requirements
and instructions in the README file of each client product.
NOTE: In Release 2.5, Neoview DB Admin, the HP Neoview Management Dashboard Client,
the HP Neoview Reports Client, and the HP Neoview System Monitor are mature products. For
more information, see “Products Removed From Release 2.5” (page 9).
HP Neoview Windows Client Package
You can now download the Windows client software all at once using a single installer interface
called the HP Neoview Windows Client Package. For more information, see “Neoview Client
Software Installation” (page 11).
