Neoview SQL Database
Release 2.5 introduces these new features and enhancements to the Neoview SQL database:
Persistent sample tables (UPDATE STATISTICS statement). The compiler uses persistent
sample tables to improve cardinality estimates for cases when estimates from histograms
cannot be considered reliable.
The REPLICATE command is a new feature that allows a Neoview installation to replicate
a table or an entire schema from one Neoview system to another. When an entire schema is
replicated, all the tables and dependent objects including indexes, views, privileges, and
statistics are replicated as well. The REPLICATE command behaves like any other SQL
command in that it can be issued anywhere an SQL command could be issued. One useful
capability of this feature is the ability to replicate a table such that the target table has a
different number of partitions from the source table. User-configurable options are supported
