Neoview Workload Management Services Guide (R2.5)

Release the WMS System
NOTE: You must be an administrator to release the WMS system. To release the WMS system,
it must be in the HOLD state.
To release the WMS system:
1. Use either of these methods to open the Configure Workload Management Services dialog
box:
Select Tools > Configure Workload Management Services from the menu bar.
Click the toolbar icon:
Configure Workload Management
Services Icon
In the Statement and Services Counter Details window, click the [Configure] button.
2. In the tree view of the Configure Workload Management Services dialog box, right-click
System, and then select Release from the list:
The WMS system is automatically put in the ACTIVE state.
NOTE: You can also perform this task using the RELEASE WMS command. For more
information, see the “RELEASE Command” (page 225).
Stop the WMS System
In some situations, you might want to stop the WMS system and prevent queries from entering
WMS. Much like stopping a service, which empties the waiting queue of the service and prevents
new queries from entering the service, stopping the WMS system stops all services, clears queries
from the waiting queues of all the services, and rejects all incoming queries.
Stopping the WMS system does not stop any internal WMS processes; it just stops WMS from
accepting new queries. To stop the internal WMS processes, contact your HP Support
representative for assistance.
NOTE: You must be an administrator to stop the WMS system. To stop the WMS system, it
must be in the ACTIVE or HOLD state.
