a. Select the Stop Immediately check box to immediately cancel all executing queries in
the service when the service is stopped, or clear this check box to allow the queries to
finish executing when the service is stopped.
• If you select Stop Immediately, WMS initially changes the state of the service to
STOPPING. After cancelling all the executing queries, WMS changes the state of
the service to STOPPED.
• If you clear Stop Immediately, WMS initially changes the state of the service to
STOPPING. After the queries finish executing, WMS changes the state of the service
to STOPPED.
b. Click [OK] to proceed with stopping the service, or click [Cancel] to quit without
stopping the service.
4. Click [OK] to acknowledge that the service was stopped.
When the service is stopped, waiting queries are rejected, and no new queries are allowed
in to the service.
NOTE: You can also perform this task using the STOP SERVICE command. For more
information, see the “STOP SERVICE Command” (page 259).
