Neoview User Management and Security Administration Guide (R2.5)

Configuration Parameters
The following parameters can be specified in the configuration description file or in HPDM
dialogs for server configuration.
Parameters listed as applicable to openLDAP should also apply to other standard LDAP servers.
However, LDAP server implementations sometimes vary.
Parameters listed as applicable to Active Directory are valid for either a Global Catalog or a
Domain Controller. You specify whether a server is a Global Catalog or Domain Controller in
the HPDM Add Directory Server dialog or the NCI CREATE SERVER command—not in the
configuration text file.
If you use HPDM, the dialogs for configuring a given type of server will allow you to specify
only parameters appropriate to that type of server. In addition, parameters that must be the same
across servers are available only in the Common Parameters part of the dialog box. NCI does
not validate the contents of the configuration description file, so configuration errors can become
apparent only at a later time.
