Neoview User Management and Security Administration Guide (R2.5)
Each of the predefined users and roles has an initial password; the ones you can change are listed
in Table 2-1. The table also indicates whether you need to know the current password in order
to change it.
Passwords assigned to the platform roles SUPER.SERVICES, HP.SDI, and HP.VTS can be modified
only by HP Support. Passwords assigned to predefined roles not listed here cannot be modified.

Creating New Platform and Power Users
Most customers find it useful to create additional platform users (especially users with the roles
SUPER.SUPER and SUPER.SERVICES) and power database users (with the roles ROLE.MGR,
ROLE.SECMGR, and ROLE.DBA) to permit multiple individuals to perform the tasks associated
with those roles. Neoview logging facilities, including some provided by third parties, let you
audit which specific user assigned to a role like SUPER.SUPER or SUPER.SERVICES, performed
an action.
To create a new platform user, the SECURITYMGR can use either the HPDM Add Platform User
dialog or the NCI CREATE USER command. To create a new user in the role ROLE.SECMGR,
the SECURITYMGR can use either the HPDM Add Database User dialog or the NCI CREATE
USER command. Later, any user in the role ROLE.SECMGR—not just SECURITYMGR—can
create additional users in these roles as needed.
To create a new ROLE.MGR or ROLE.DBA user, the USERMGR can use either the HPDM Add
Database User dialog or the NCI CREATE USER command. Later, any user in the role
ROLE.SECMGR—not just SECURITYMGR—can create additional accounts in these roles as
needed. Later, any user in the role ROLE.MGR—not just USERMGR—can create additional users
in these roles as needed.
