Obtaining and Installing Client Software
Install or upgrade the following clients on workstations used for secure access to the Neoview
platform:
NotesClient Product Name
Required if users will run applications that depend on
ODBC APIs. Password encryption features are available
on the following platforms, provided that you run a Release
2.5 or later version of the ODBC driver:
• Windows 32-bit
• Windows 64-bit
• IBM AIX®

• Solaris for SPARC® 64-bit

HP Neoview ODBC Driver for Windows or HP Neoview
ODBC Driver for UNIX
Required if users will run applications that depend on
JDBC APIs. Password encryption features are available
on the following platforms, provided that you run a Release
2.5 or later version of the JDBC driver:
• Windows 32-bit
• Windows 64-bit
• IBM AIX®
• IBM AIX® 64-bit
• Solaris for SPARC®
• Solaris for SPARC® 64-bit

HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver
Required if the workstation will be used for database
management and administration tasks or for GUI-based
user management and security administration. HPDM
requires an ODBC driver. Install the ODBC driver before
installing HPDM.
HP Database Manager (HPDM)
Required for running security management commands
and for executing SQL queries or database administration
tasks from a command line. NCI requires a JDBC driver.
Install the JDBC driver before installing NCI.
Neoview Command Interface (NCI)
Required if the workstation will be used to load the
Neoview database. The Transporter installation procedure
automatically installs the latest JDBC driver.
Neoview Transporter Client
Required if the workstation will be used for query
monitoring. NPAT requires an ODBC driver. Install the
ODBC driver before installing NPAT.
