Character Sets
Each Neoview platform has a character set configuration that you choose when you order a new
Neoview platform. The Neoview character set configuration determines how character data is
sent back and forth between client applications and the Neoview database. Although you can
specify only ISO88591 or UCS2 for a character column definition, the Neoview character set
configuration permits you to store character string data encoded in other character sets. For
detailed information about how the encoding of character set data, including multibyte characters,
is handled on the client and server sides of the Neoview platform, see the Neoview Character Sets
