This README describes how to install the Neoview Windows Client Package. The client package is a collection of Windows drivers and tools that you can install collectively to save time.
Checking Version Compatibility Before installing the Neoview Windows Client Package, check the compatibility of the package with the Neoview platform. Neoview Release of Client Product the Client Product Name Compatible Versions of the Neoview platform V24 Neoview Release 2.
Requirement Description Java 2 Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1 (for NCI) HP Neoview Release 1 Neoview Release 2.4 Service Pack 2 Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 are not supported. Uninstalling Older Versions of Windows Drivers and Tools Before using the Windows client package, you must uninstall older versions of the drivers and tools listed in Table 1 (page 5).
Installing the Package Use these steps to install the client package. These steps assume that you have not previously run the client package on this workstation. If you have previously run the client package, see “Adding, Removing, or Repairing Drivers and Tools By Using the setup.exe File” (page 10). 1. 2. If you have not already done so, uninstall any older versions of Neoview drivers and tools, as described in “Uninstalling Older Versions of Windows Drivers and Tools” (page 7). Double-click the setup.
NOTE: You can ignore the “space required” information displayed by InstallShield during the installation process. This information usually is not accurate. To ensure enough disk space for a successful installation, see the disk space requirements in “Installation Requirements” (page 6). 8. 9. Click Install to begin the installation. The Setup Status dialog box shows the status of the installation. When the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box appears, the installation is complete.
3. 4. Copy the setup.iss file and the setup.exe installer file to the same directory on another client workstation where you want to install the package. Now, you can run the installer in silent mode. In the Windows command line of the target client workstation, type the command for running the installer and use the /s (“silent”) switch: C:\neowinclientpkg>setup.exe /s 5. Press Return. The installation can take a few moments to start, but then proceeds in the background.
Uninstalling by Using Add or Remove Programs in Windows XP For client workstations running Windows XP, you can uninstall all drivers and tools by using the Add or Remove Programs function in the control panel: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Click Start to open the Start menu. Click Control Panel to open the Control Panel. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. The Add or Remove Programs dialog box opens. Scroll through the list box to find the HP Neoview Windows Client Package entry, and select it.
