About the HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools The HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools provide insight into queries running on the Neoview data warehousing platform. The HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools include these components: • Neoview Query Viewer • Neoview Query Workbench • Neoview Performance Analyzer Through its graphical representation of system and query metrics, the Neoview Performance Analyzer enables DBAs to troubleshoot query-related issues by using reactive and retrospective analysis.
Installation Package The HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools software is available in this downloadable distribution file: Distribution File Supported Platform File Contents NPAInstaller_2.4.x.zip Windows XP or later setup.exe NPAInstaller_2.4.x.msi NPAInstaller_2.4.0.zip Windows XP or later setup.exe NPAInstaller.msi NPAInstaller_2.3.1.zip Windows XP or later setup.exe NPAInstaller.
NOTE: The key difference between the .msi and .exe files is that only the .exe file checks for the required .NET 3.5 runtime: • If you use setup.exe and if the .NET runtime is not present, the installer downloads the runtime from the Microsoft website before preceding with the NPA installation. • If you use NPAInstaller_2.4.x.msi directly, you must confirm .NET and other prerequisite software is already installed on your client workstation.
When Uninstall HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools is selected, a window is displayed that shows the progress of the uninstallation process. When the window closes, the uninstallation is complete. Reinstalling the HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools To reinstall Neoview Performance Analysis Tools, HP recommends that you uninstall Neoview Performance Analysis Tools and then install the new version.
This option... Controls Hide Transaction Bounds Whether SQL statements that are transaction boundaries (such as BEGIN/COMMIT WORK or BEGIN TRANSACTION/END TRANSACTION) are retrieved and displayed. Filters transaction boundaries. This option can also be controlled from the Live View Options right-click menu. Hide Completed Queries Whether or not recently executed SQL statements (in the last minute) are also downloaded and displayed along with currently running queries as per the repository.
Notification Bubbles Notification bubbles are message indicators that display the status of any asynchronous operation in the Neoview Query Viewer, such as connect, load/refresh query list, kill a query, and so on. Most operations in the Neoview Query Viewer are queued and asynchronous (run in the background), which means the client is not locked while an operation is in progress.
