About the HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools The HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools provide insight into queries running on the Neoview data warehousing platform. The HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools include these components: • Neoview Query Viewer • Neoview Query Workbench • Neoview Performance Analyzer Through its graphical representation of system and query metrics, the Neoview Performance Analyzer enables DBAs to troubleshoot query-related issues by using reactive and retrospective analysis.
By default, a new version of the Neoview Performance Analyzer is installed in this directory unless you specify a different directory during installation: C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Neoview Performance Analysis Tools\ Installation Requirements Computer Windows compatible PC workstation Memory Recommended minimum 512 MB Disk space 10 MB for installation, plus an additional 64 MB free space Operating system Microsoft Windows XP or higher.
. On the Installation Complete page, click Close to exit the wizard. Task 3: Configure the ODBC Client Data Source After you install the Neoview Performance Analysis Tools on your workstation, configure the ODBC client data source. The ODBC client data source, used in NQV to connect to the Neoview platform, must have the same name as the platform-side DSN. The name for the default DSN is NEOVIEW_master-segment-name_PERFORMANCE (or the name of a high-priority Data Source configured by HP Support).
Connect to the previously configured client-side ODBC data source either by pressing the F5 key or selecting the Workspace menu Connect option. On Release 2.3 or later platforms, make sure that you connect to the data source that was previously configured by HP Support to use the service HP_QMGMT_SERVICE.
NOTE: The Adjusting Query Priority option is available only in releases prior to Release 2.4 and only to HP Support. In Release 2.4, the Hold/Release query options are available only to HP Support. Killing Queries The Kill Selected Queries option allows you to kill the selected queries in the Query Viewer. You must own the selected queries. Select one or more queries, and select Kill Selected Queries from the right-click menu option. A dialog appears that asks you to confirm the operation.
Other Important Information About This Product Prior to Neoview Release 2.3 SP3, this product was known as Neoview Performance Analyzer. In Neoview Release 2.3 SP3 and Release 2.4, Neoview Performance Analyzer is one of three components of the Neoview Performance Analysis Tools.
