Installation Requirements
The Neoview Command Interface (NCI) runs on Windows, various *nix platforms including
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris. You must have Sun's Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version
of 1.5, 1.4.2 or later installed on the client workstation.
NOTE: Using GNU Java Runtime Environment is not supported.
You must also have the HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver for Neoview Release 2.4 Service Pack
1 installed on the client workstation before installing NCI. To install the JDBC driver, see the
README for the HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver.

Follow these instructions to download and install NCI on the client workstation.

Downloading the Installer
The NCI software is distributed as a ZIP file and the installer jar file, hpnciInstaller.jar is
contained within the ZIP file hpnci_2.4.x.zip:
1. Locate or create a directory or folder for the installer file anywhere on the client workstation.
2. On the client workstation, start a Web browser and navigate to the download site:
http://www.software.hp.com
3. Enter Neoview Command Interface in the search box in the upper right corner of the
Software Depot home page.
4. Click the HP Neoview Command Interface link that appears in the search results and
download the HP Neoview Command Interface.
5. The installer jar file hpnciInstaller.jar is available within the ZIP file
hpnci_2.4.x.zip:
