Checking Version Compatibility Before installing the client product, check the compatibility of the product with the Neoview platform. Neoview Release of Client Product the Client Product Name Compatible versions of the Neoview platform 2.4 Service Pack 1 HPDM Neoview Release 2.4 Service Pack 1 and later versions 2.4 HPDM Neoview Release 2.4 and later versions To find the version of an installed HPDM client, select the Help > About menu to display the About box.
NOTE: The key difference between the .msi and .exe files is that only the .exe file checks for the required .NET 3.5 runtime: • If you use HPDatabaseManagerInstaller.msi directly, you must confirm .NET and other prerequisite software is already installed on the client workstation. • If you use setup.exe and if the .NET runtime is not present, the installer downloads the runtime from the Microsoft Web site before proceeding with the HPDM installation.
3. If this is the first time you are using the application, you must add the systems that you want to manage. a. From the Tools menu, select System Tools to display the System Tools dialog box. b. Click the Add button to display the Add System dialog box. c. Enter the Neoview system connection details: d. Field Description Your Name for System An alias name to identify this Neoview platform.
