README for HP Neoview Release 2.4

Sun JDK 1.5 or later (1.6 is strongly recommended)
32 or 64 bit (64-bit is recommended)
Support for the Transporter API
The Transporter client now includes a set of APIs for deep integration with ETL tools. The API
infrastructure is available as a platform-specific shared library object called libjnvt.so. It is
intended for use only by ETL tools.
The Transporter API is supported on these platforms:
HP-UX for Itanium (64-bit)
Linux for x86 (64-bit)
JVM support is:
Sun JDK 1.5 or later (1.6 is strongly recommended)
64-bit only
Support for Console-Mode Installation
The Transporter client can now be installed in “console” mode when a GUI environment is
unavailable or a GUI installation is not desired. This installation mode is enabled using the
-console option.
For example, use this command:
java -jar nvt_java_client_v.v.v.jar -console
v.v.v indicates the major version, minor version, and update number. For example, 2.4.0
corresponds to the initial release of version 2.4.
Delimited Identifier Support in the Control File Generator
The Control File Generator now supports delimited identifiers in schema, table, and column
names.

Neoview Workload Management Services (WMS)
Release 2.4 includes this new WMS functionality:
Administrators are permitted to run any WMS command. By default, administrators include
ROLE.DBA and the super IDs, super.services and super.super. Users other than
administrators may execute only these commands:
— INFO WMS
— STATUS QUERIES
— STATUS QUERY
— STATUS WMS
A rules mechanism is provided:
— CONN for connection mapping
— COMP for compilation rules
— EXEC for execution rules
New commands are available:
— ADD RULE CONN Command
— ADD RULE COMP Command
