Reports Client, and the HP Neoview System Monitor are mature products, meaning that HP will
no longer accept requests for enhancements of those products but will fix critical defects. For
more information, see “Mature Products in Release 2.4 SP2” (page 7).
Neoview JDBC and ODBC Drivers
The Neoview JDBC and ODBC drivers now return LONGVARCHAR columns as VARCHAR.
To install the JDBC and ODBC drivers for Release 2.4 SP2, see these documents:
README for the HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver

To restore the previous behavior (returning LONGVARCHAR), apply this SET attribute to a
server-side data source: SQL_ATTR_ENABLE_LONGVARCHAR 'ON'. To set this attribute,
please contact your HP Support representative for assistance.
Neoview Transporter
The Neoview Transporter includes these new features:
A new Control File Generator option, -srcfile, allows you to populate the sources section
in a control file with the names of data files of your choice. For more information, see “New
Control File Generator Option” (page 12).
A new compression feature improves load performance for staging table loads and
nonaudited loads. For more information, see the “Compression Option” (page 12).
Both the executor and the Encapsulated SQL Access Manager (ESAM) have been enhanced
to allow multiple Neoview processes to send data as part of a side-tree insert session. For
more information, see the“Teamsize Option and Multi-Session Side-Tree Inserts” (page 13).
The Neoview Transporter now supports the use of expressions to convert a null into a value
that can be loaded into a NOT NULL column. For more information, see “Support for Nulls
in Scalar Expressions” (page 13).
There are several new and improved error messages for the Neoview Transporter. See the
“Neoview Transporter Messages” (page 20).
To install the Neoview Transporter Java Client, see the README for the HP Neoview Transporter
Java Client.
