Neoview Client Software Installation

Release 2.4 SP2 introduces the HP Neoview Windows Client Package, which greatly simplifies

the installation of the client software. Release 2.4 SP2 also includes enhancements to some of the

client software products. For more information, see “HP Neoview Windows Client Package”

(page 10) and “Client Software Enhancements for Release 2.4 SP2” (page 11).

HP Neoview Windows Client Package

The HP Neoview Windows Client Package is new for Release 2.4 SP2. The package combines

eight Windows client drivers and tools into a single installation file, greatly simplifying installation

and reducing the time required to install each component. The package includes these Windows

drivers and tools:

• Drivers:

— HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver

— HP Neoview ODBC Driver for Windows

• Tools:

— HP Neoview System Monitor

— HP Neoview Performance Analysis Tools

— HP Neoview Command Interface (NCI)

— HP Neoview Transporter Java Client

— HP Database Manager (HPDM)

— HP Neoview Reports Client

The package does not include these client software products:

• HP Neoview Management Dashboard Client

• HP Neoview ODBC Drivers for UNIX

You must still download and install those products individually. For more information, see the

README for the HP Neoview Management Dashboard Client and the README for the HP Neoview

ODBC Drivers for UNIX, respectively.

The Neoview Windows Client Package has an easy-to-use interface that allows you to install all

of the drivers and tools by default or select the components that you want to install. You can

also uninstall the entire package or selected components. A summary screen appears at the end

of the installation to indicate the versions of installed components.

NOTE: The Neoview Windows Client Package is compatible with Neoview Release 2.4 SP2

and later releases. The package can be used on 32-bit Windows XP or Vista operating systems

but is not supported on 64-bit operating systems.
