Welcome to the HP Neoview System Monitor
The Neoview System Monitor is a PC client application that displays status and performance
data for the Neoview platform. The client communicates over UDP with a server component on
the Neoview platform. The displayed status and performance data includes three system summary
metrics and seven performance metrics:
System Summary Metrics
• Connectivity
• Transactions
• Disks
Performance Metrics
• % CPU Busy
• Disk I/O
• Cache Hits
• Dispatch
• Swap
• Free Memory
• CPU Queue Length
Metrics appear as icons or colored bars on a graph with each bar representing a processing node
(CPU) in a segment. Bar colors and thresholds for each performance metric are fully configurable,
and tooltips activated by the cursor position show the current value for each metric. Users can
also configure a timeline to show how a given metric changes over time.
Install the Neoview System Monitor Client Application
The PC on which the Neoview System Monitor client application is installed must have the
Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista operating system. This quick start assumes that
the client and server software components of the Neoview System Monitor are installed and
ready for use. If these components are not installed, see the README for the HP Neoview System
Monitor, or contact HP support. You can download the client software component and the
README from the HP Software Depot at http://software.hp.com.
