QUARTER Function
The QUARTER function converts a DATE or TIMESTAMP expression into an INTEGER value
in the range 1 through 4 that represents the corresponding quarter of the year. Quarter 1 represents
January 1 through March 31, and so on.
QUARTER is a Neoview SQL extension.
QUARTER (datetime-expression)
datetime-expression
is an expression that evaluates to a datetime value of type DATE or TIMESTAMP. See
“Datetime Value Expressions” (page 245).
Example of QUARTER
Return an integer that represents the quarter of the year from the START_DATE column in the
PROJECT table:
SELECT start_date, ship_timestamp, QUARTER(start_date)
FROM persnl.project
WHERE projcode = 1000;
