Neoview Owner's Manual (R2.2 SP1, R2.3)
Overview
HP support engineers and Professional Service delivery consultants use this questionnaire to
collect data and identify areas of concern that can affect installation, supportability, or operational
reliability of new or relocated equipment within a data center. The obtained information can also
be included with other HP service offerings to assist customers in improving their existing data
center or when building a new facility intended for HP systems. This Site Preparation
Walk-Through covers many computing environment characteristics such as floor loading, power,
accessibility, and cooling to ensure equipment is installed, operated, and supported within
equipment specifications. The Walk-Through includes an appraisal of the existing environment,
which includes:
• Room size
• Flooring and access
• Fire detection and suppression
• Electrical; static, grounding, power
• Surge protection and backup
• Interference (RMI, EMI, and so on
• Air conditioning
• Ongoing environmental monitoring
• Maintenance practices and equipment conditioning
When completed in its entirety, the Walk-Through assists in determining the suitability of a data
center and identifies actions or improvements (Risks Items) that might be required to upgrade
the center to meet required minimal standards. An additional Statement of Work services can
be generated from this review to address areas of concern or risk that are identified.
