1.2.2 Installation Requirements
The HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver requires Java enabled platforms that
support the Sun Microsystems Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.4.1 or higher.
1.2.3 Installation Instructions
1.2.3.1 Installing the JDBC Type 4 Driver
1. Locate or create a download directory or folder for the TAR file
anywhere on the client workstation.
2. Close all applications running on the workstation, except the Web
browser.
3. In the browser, navigate to the download site: www.software.hp.com.
4. Enter this string in the Search box:
"Neoview JDBC"
5. Click the HP Neoview JDBC Type 4 Driver link on the download site to
download the TAR file.
6. When prompted to open or save the TAR file to your computer, click
Save and then select the download folder.
7. Dearchive the hpt4jdbc_v22.tar file by using the tar command (or the
WinZip Extract tool):
tar -xvf hpt4jdbc_v22.tar
The command creates these directories:
o samples/, which contains sample programs
o lib/, which contains the hpt4jdbc.jar file
o install/, which contains sanityCheck and UnInstall
8. Set up the client environment. See Setting Up the Client Environment.

1. Close all applications running on the workstation, except the Web
