Installing ODBC Client Software
If you plan to use ODBC connectivity for any data source, you must install ODBC client software
on each workstation that uses ODBC data sources. Although each client workstation can download
the installation file directly from the HP Web site, in large installations it might be more efficient
to download the installation file to an internal Web location for easier deployment to all client
workstations.
Avoiding Driver-Platform Version Incompatibility
To make a connection with the Neoview platform, HP ODBC clients, through their respective
drivers, connect with the Neoview database connectivity service (NDCS) on the Neoview platform.
In some situations, HP ODBC clients need to make connections to Release 2.2 and Release 2.1
(and older) Neoview platforms (servers) from the same client boxes. To make a connection, the
driver version must be compatible with the Neoview platform version.
