Inserting the Router into an HP-UX Serviceguard Solutions
Metrocluster
Because the HP-UX Serviceguard Solutions Metrocluster does not use any SCSI persistent
reservations for the shared storage resources that it manages, you need not change any metrocluster
specific setting when inserting the router in the data path. The iSR6200 supports Serviceguard Solutions
Metroclusters on HP-UX 11.x platforms, any array model, PVLinks and native MPIO, and router insertion
method 2.
To insert the iSR6200 in the data path for HP-UX Serviceguard Solutions Metroclusters, use the
procedures documented in Appendix A of the Data Migration Service for iSR6200 User’s Guide. The
following procedures are specific to native multipathing in HP-UX 11.23 (PVLinks) and HP-UX 11.31.
4.1
HP-UX 11.23 (PVLinks)
1. Ensure that the original configuration has the following attributes:
The cluster applications use logical volumes carved from volume groups (VGs).
The VGs are created from one or more physical volumes (PVs).
In a multipathing setup using PVLinks, each LUN has multiple PVs associated with it, where the first
is considered the primary link and the others are considered alternate links.
2. While the I/O is running, add router paths to the host.
3. Create a PV for each router path for each LUN.
