Logical Server Hostnames
Each logical server belonging to a service has a hostname. Hostnames are constructed from
A string in the IO template and
A hostname completion string supplied when the create service request is submitted
An integer identifying the logical server within its logical server group.
IO utilizes the Matrix OE logical server management capabilities to provision services, which requires that hostnames
be globally unique. Consequently if the same template is used by different organizations there is a possibility of a
hostname clash which will result in a Logical Server already exists” provisioning failure.
Access to Resources
Since version 7.0 access to resources in IO has been hierarchical, the Service Provider Admin has unrestricted access
to resources and can make them available to organizations. Within an organization, User access to compute
resources is controlled by the Organization Admin.
