Enhancements to HP Storage Provisioning Manager version 2.3 such as:
Controlling the target ports on a HP 3PAR StoreServ storage system that will be used by
SPM. This is accomplished using the ArrayPortWhiteList element of the SPM 3PAR
configuration file stored in SPM install
location/state/3par_storage/Configuration.xml. For more information,
see the HP Matrix Operating Environment and HP Storage Provisioning Manager support
for port groups white paper at http://www.hp.com/go/matrixoe/docs.
Limiting the target ports that SPM uses when automatically creating new zones. This is
accomplished using the new port group configuration file stored in SPM install
location/state/storageArrayBridge/Configuration.xml and Suggested
Fiber Channel Port Group Name service requirements. For more information, see the HP
Matrix Operating Environment and HP Storage Provisioning Manager support for port
groups white paper at http://www.hp.com/go/matrixoe/docs.
Specifying a suggested volume name prefix to be used when SPM creates new volumes.
The volume name prefix is specified in the SPM storage template. For storage systems
where this is supported, the suggested prefix will be used together with a random number
of up to seven digits to name newly-created volumes. When no user-specified volume
name prefix is provided, SPM uses the prefix “SPM_”.
Specifying Windows 2012 operating systems for hosts that will use storage provisioned
by SPM. This is applicable to all storage services except those provisioned on P6000/EVA
or P9000/XP storage systems.
Improved error reporting when using signed SSL certificates to interface to SPM.
Enhancements to Matrix Operating Environment provisioning capabilities (Matrix infrastructure
orchestration and the logical server management capabilities of Matrix OE visualization) that
include:
Support for IPv6 addresses when configuring networks and importing or provisioning
logical servers (virtual and physical). A server group or logical server can be IPv4, dual
stack (IPv4 and IPv6), or IPv6, but the management and deployment networks remain
