2. The appliance generates a compressed file of the audit logs and downloads it to your local
computer.
The compressed file is named audit-logs-yyyy_mm_dd-hh_mm_ss, where yyyy_mm_dd
indicates the date and hh_mm_ss indicates the time the file was created. The name of the
audit log file is displayed on the screen.
If you designated a Download folder in your browser options, the audit log file is downloaded
into that folder. Otherwise, you are prompted where it should be stored.
Update the appliance firmware
Use this procedure to update your appliance firmware.
Prerequisites
• Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure Administrator
• Ensure that no other users are logged in to the appliance.
Procedure 8 Updating the appliance firmware
1. Select Actions→Update in the Settings window.
2. In the Update Appliance screen, click updates in the line that reads “Go to hp.com for latest
updates” to access the HP Support Center.
3. Locate any update images for the appliance. The update image is a large, encrypted file; the
file name has the .bin extension.
NOTE: If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 to upload a file type other than .bin, then
loading will be stopped and the file will be deleted.
Download the image file to your local computer.
4. Upload the update image from your local machine to the appliance by either of the following
methods:
• Drag the image file and drop it in the designated area of the Update Appliance screen.
NOTE: Some versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer do not support this method.
• Click Upload file, browse to find the image file, and select it.
The appliance validates the update file after you download it.
If the update file is invalid or if there is insufficient disk space, the appliance deletes the update
file and displays the errors.
5. Click Install update.
If the installation fails, the appliance reverts back to its previous state, then reboots.
6. If required, the appliance is rebooted, and the appliance reverts to the login screen.
Log in to the appliance. The new appliance version is displayed in the Settings screen.
Enable or disable HP Support access
HP Support access was enabled or disabled on initial appliance configuration.
You can set your appliance to allow HP Support to access it in extreme cases.
IMPORTANT: This product contains a technical feature that will allow HP support personnel to
access your system, through the system console, to assess problems that you have reported. This
access will be controlled by a password generated by HP that will only be provided to authorized
support personnel. You can disable access at any time while the system is running.
