HP Matrix 7.2 KVM Private Cloud Getting Started Guide

The Matrix OE software is installed on a Central Management Server (CMS) running Systems
Insight Manager, which provides a browser-based user interface. A single CMS can be used to
manage different types of systems or instances.
1. Obtain system credentials and the IP address for the CMS running Matrix OE.
2. Log in to Matrix OE, specifying the IP address of the CMS in the following URL:
https://cms-ip-address:50000
Edit the Matrix infrastructure orchestration properties file
1. From a command prompt on the CMS where Matrix OE is installed, edit the infrastructure
orchestration properties file in the default location at:
C:\Program Files\HP\Matrix infrastructure orchestration\conf\hpio.properties.
2. Set the following properties:
cloud.capacity=true
cloud.capacity.adapters=nova
Set up an SSL certificate trust relationship between Matrix OE and the
Matrix KVM Admin Console appliance
An SSL certificate trust relationship must exist for virtual machine deployment to proceed. The
following procedure describes the required steps.
If you regenerate a certificate or change the existing host name or IP address of the Matrix KVM
Admin Console appliance after initial configuration, you must recreate the trust relationship by
downloading and importing the new certificate into the Systems Insight Manager trust store.
1. Download the SSL certificate using a web browser. Instructions for Internet Explorer and Firefox
are shown below.
Internet Explorer
1. Enter the hostname or IP address of the Matrix KVM Admin Console appliance in your
browser.
2. In the address bar, click Certificate Error.
3. At the bottom of the Untrusted Certificate dialog, click the View Certificates link.
4. Select the Details tab in the newly opened window.
5. Click Copy to File… to start the Certificate Export Wizard, and click Next.
6. Choose Base-64-encoded X.509 (CER) and click Next.
7. Enter a name for the certificate file and click Next.
8. Click Finish to complete the export process.
9. Click OK in the success confirmation popup, and OK in the Certificate dialog.
Firefox
1. Enter the hostname or IP address of the Matrix KVM Admin Console appliance in your
browser.
2. Click the Lock icon on the far left of the address bar.
3. Click More information, then View Certificate, then select the Details tab.
4. Click Export.
5. Enter a file name.
6. Save the file as an x/509 Certificate PEM file.
7. Click Close.
