2. Remove OpenWBEM and packages that depend on OpenWBEM through the YaST Control Center or
another package management application.
Procedure 2-30 Download OpenPegasus WBEM
Use the following steps to download OpenPegasus WBEM packages from the HP website.
1. Go to http://www.hp.com/.
2. Enter “OpenPegasus WBEM Services” in the product search field and click the Search button.
3. Click the link for the OpenPegasus version specific to VSE Management Software from the resulting list
of products.
NOTE: The product description indicates whether the selected OpenPegasus package is specific to
VSE Management Software.
4. Click the Download button to download the package.
Procedure 2-31 Install OpenPegasus WBEM
After downloading the OpenPegasus package, install it and start OpenPegasus WBEM Services on the
system.
1. Login to the Linux system as root and run the following command to install the package:
# rpm Uvh tog-pegasus-version.distro.arch.rpm
2. Start OpenPegasus WBEM Services by running the following command as the root user:
# /etc/init.d/tog-pegasus start
At this point the Linux managed system has OpenPegasus WBEM installed and configured. The next steps
provide information on how to configure the CMS to enable VSE Agent Distributor for VSE Agents.
Additional Configuration Steps
If your Linux system is not an HP SIM managed system yet, refer to the “Setting Up Managed Systems” section
of the
HP Systems Insight Manager 4.3 Installation and User Guide
at http://www.docs.hp.com. This
document also contains information on how to configure WBEM credentials for a Linux system.
At this point users can install VSE Agents onto the Linux managed systems, necessary for VSE Management.

for instructions for instructions on how to install HP WBEM Providers onto Linux
managed systems.
