vseinitconfig -b -d /var/backups/2009-09-01

Here is the same command, using the long form of options:

vseinitconfig --backup --dir=/var/backups/2009-09-01

The following command performs the unconfigure operation, removing Insight Dynamics tools

from HP SIM. The --clobber option causes the database information to be removed without

making a backup:

vseinitconfig --unconfig --clobber

You can mix the short and long form options. For example, to restore the Insight Dynamics

database from the directory /var/backups/2009-09-01, you can use the following command:

vseinitconfig --restore -d /var/backups/2009-09-01 -F

The console (non-error) output from the vseinitconfig command is written to the following

log file:

HP-UX:

/var/opt/vse/logs/vseinitconfig_output.log

Windows:

install-path\logs\vseinitconfig_output.log

Errors and exceptions reported by vseinitconfig, are written to the following log file:

HP-UX:

/var/opt/vse/logs/vseinitconfig.log

Windows:

install-path\logs\vseinitconfig.log

The default install-path on a Windows CMS is C:\Program Files\HP\Virtual Server

Environment, but this directory can be changed at installation time.
