HP CloudSystem Matrix How-To Guide: ESXi Cluster Provisioning

Open the Servers tab and create a server pool to hold the blades to be used for cluster nodes
(IntelClusterPool in the following figure).
Note that the hosts should all be either Intel or AMD G7 blades. If the blades in the pool are heterogeneous, the
80_CreateHostProfile_group_end workflow will not be able to create a host profile for the cluster.
Make sure that there are sufficient storage volumes.
o Open the Storage tab. The cluster will need one non-boot disk of type VMware and of sufficient size to
hold the data store with one connection for each host in the cluster. The template shown previously requires
just one 20 Gb disk with at least two connections.
Step 2: Create an IO service based on the template
Create a service by using the cluster template and the server pool that holds the blades.
There are three phases during service creation: reserving and allocating the blades, creating the logical servers for
the hosts, and finally running the OO workflows to automatically deploy the ESXi software and configure the hosts.
The following warning messages can be safely ignored.
For a list of error conditions that should not be ignored, see "Troubleshooting."
