Upgrading Logical Servers from HP Insight Dynamics - VSE for ProLiant Version 4.0 to 4.1
Solutions to Potential Problems
If your logical servers did not transition properly, you may see the following issues:
• After reactivating an existing virtual machine logical server, the logical server may not
be activated on its pre-upgrade assigned host.
• There may not be any Logical Server Platform Types selectable when you create
a logical server, or only a subset of the expected types.
Based on the type of host that is having problems, you may have to perform further
configuration.
To check the health of your logical servers, you can open the Physical and Virtual
perspective and click on the logical server's Resource Utilization Information icon. If
there are problems, potential resolutions to those potential problems are included in the pop up
window. For example:

To correct these problems, you may have to reset you
r hosts after an upgrade. The following
sections provide links to more information.
Host Reset Configuration
After an upgrade, an existing logical server may not be reactivated on its pre-upgrade assigned
host. If this occurs, you may need to reset the ESX hosts or Virtual Connect hosts in your HP SIM
environment.
For information about resetting ESX hosts, see:
HP ProLiant Essentials Virtualization Management
documentation
For information about resetting Virtual Connect hosts, see:
HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager documentation
