Software Dependencies” (page 21) for additional software not included with this release that
might be required in your configuration.
This release supports upgrades from any previous VSE release (VSE Management Software
version 2.0, version 2.5, or version 3.0) to VSE Management Software version 4.0.
VSE Management Software Version 4.0 October 2008 Update Release
The October 2008 Update Release is available to resolve the following known issues with HP
Virtual Server Environment Management for Integrity Version 4.0.
• Undeploy Hangs if Host is Down or Unresponsive. The gWLM force undeploy functionality,
available from either the command line interface or from the GUI, will not work if the host
is down or unresponsive. The October 2008 Update Release resolves this issue such that the
SRD will be changed to the undeployed state on the CMS. After running a force undeploy
operation on the CMS, the following commands should be run on the managed nodes:
# rm -f /etc/opt/gwlm/deployed.config
# /opt/gwlm/bin/gwlmagent --restart
Workaround On the CMS install the following patches, provided as part of the October
2008 Update Release:

• iCAP Server Disappears when a VSE Sub-OS Workload is Deployed to the Server The October
2008 Update Release resolves this issue such that iCAP systems with sub-OS workloads will
be displayed by the iCAP Manager.
Workaround Install the following patches, provided as part of the October 2008 Update
Release:

• Duplicate Gadget Name Error Appears on the iCAP Manager Homepage These error
messages would appear whenever a standby group manager is configured with iCAP 9.0.
The October 2008 Update Release resolves this issue.
Workaround Install the following patches, provided as part of the October 2008 Update
Release:

These patches are to be installed on the CMS and do not need to be installed on the managed
systems.
