HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.3 Release Notes

the acceptance check box in the hpio.properties file using the
user.license.agreement properties).
The administrator can customize the background and font colors using the
Organization Administrator Portal (Organization tab).
By default, the telnet link in the Console Access section has been replaced with SSH
and VNC (and the existing RDP link). You can configure the desired URL launches
for console access (including telnet if desired) using the custom.console.link
properties in the hpio.properties file. URL protocol handlers must be registered
and required software must be installed for the links to work correctly.
The administrator can put up to three custom links on organization self-service portals
using the Organizations Tab of the Organization Administrator Portal.
Configuring Display Names for networks which are shown in addition to the formal
name in the Networks tab of the Matrix IO console.
Configuring networks in Matrix infrastructure orchestration with no IP addresses using the
new “None/External” choice. When selected, Matrix infrastructure orchestration does
not assign an IP address. “None/External is useful for NIC teaming or if IP addresses are
externally assigned.
Matrix infrastructure orchestration designer allows you to specify the cost of customizing
OS/software images and networks.
Matrix infrastructure orchestration modifyService CLI allows the administrator to
change the cost of deployed services.
The bundled OO workflows include iLO workflows (such as power operations, get/set
power caps, execute RIBCL scripts, and so on)
Ability to specify a custom prefix (in the lsa.properties file) for host entries created
by HP Storage Provisioning Manager to present storage to Matrix logical servers.
Matrix OE supports high availability (HA) Hyper-V VMs, with RDM or pass-through disks,
that have various constraints based on Hyper-V requirements:
Only HA VMs can have pass-through cluster disks attached, and HA VMs can only
have pass-through cluster disks attached (can also attach standard pass-through disks
to non-HA VMs).
Before provisioning an HA VM using a pass-through cluster disk, it is necessary to
turn on maintenance mode (else the VM provisioning will fail). This is done via the
Microsoft Failover Cluster Manager using Turn On Maintenance Mode in the More
Actions menu for the selected cluster disks. After the service containing the VM (or
logical server) has been provisioned and the OS installed, use Microsoft Failover
Cluster Manager to enable Turn Off Maintenance Mode.
Before performing any deactivate server or deactivate logical server operation, you
must enable Turn On Maintenance Mode for the cluster disks. Otherwise, the reactivate
logical server operation fails (because the start VM operation fails). This is done via
the Microsoft Failover Cluster Manager using Turn On Maintenance Mode in the
More Actions menu for the selected cluster disks. If there is a long period of time
between deactivate and reactivate, the maintenance mode can be turned on prior
to reactivate (to minimize the time spent in maintenance mode). Maintenance mode
should be turned off once the VM is powered on again (using Microsoft Failover
Cluster Manager to enable Turn Off Maintenance Mode).
