Installing an SPP
For a CMS running on an HP server, you must install a compatible HP Service Pack for ProLiant
(SPP) and finish any network configuration that is required to communicate with your hypervisor
hosts and other managed nodes. Install both firmware updates and the online components for
Windows using the HP Smart Update Manager. The installation of the SPP online components for
Windows requires the SNMP Services feature.
If your CMS is running in a virtual machine, there is no need to install the SPP. The SPP does not
run on a guest operating system environment regardless of the hypervisor.
