Select the information from that pane and paste it into your inventory file.
To build a list of the logical servers in your environment, capture the output from the
following two commands entered at the command prompt:
mxcollection –lf “Active Logical Servers”
mxcollection –lf “Inactive Logical Servers”
The mxcollection commands output an xml file. The xml file does not show the hosts, but if your
environment has many logical servers, using these commands is a quick way to obtain the
information for your inventory file.
To list all logical servers, you can also use the LSMUTIL command:
lsmutil –list > 41LogicalServerList.txt
LSMUTIL is the logical server management utility. You can use LSMUTIL to get a quick and
condensed look at your logical servers and their current status. The following figure shows the
available options of this utility and a sample output for it.
