Prerequisite Products
In order to in
stall and use Insight Recovery, a customer must first have installed the following products

o set up Insight Recovery,
the
server administrator (hereafter referred to as “the admin”) performs the
following tasks
:
The
admin creates
logical server
s on both sites
.
F
or each
logical server
protected by Insight Recovery
(hereafter referred to as “DR
-
protected”)
at the
primary si
te
, a corresponding
logical server
must exist at the
recovery
site
.
That is, for each
logical server
at the
primary site
to be protected by
Insight
Recovery
,
there must be a corresponding “r
ecovery
logical server
” at the
recovery site
.
The
admin r
equest
s
that the storage admin
istrator
do the following:
Create LUN
s on
the
arrays
these are the storage LUNs to be used by the
logical server
s
at the
primary
and
recovery site
s.
Setup replication for LUN
s
the LUNs that are used by the
logical server
s protec
ted by
Insight Recovery at the
primary site
must be replicated to the
recovery site
.
Present LUN
s to the WWNs provided by
the
server admin
the LUNs are presented to
the
logical server
s
HBA WWNs
that
will access
them.
Inform
the
server admin
of the
deta
ils
regarding
DR Group name, s
torage
array
WWN
for
both sites,
and the CommandView EVA server
names and credentials
for both sites
this information will be used as part of the Insight Recovery configuration.

set up of
the
logical
server
