HP Insight Dynamics- VSE for ProLiant Installation and Configuration Guide

Applying an HP Insight Dynamics – VSE license in HP SIM applies licenses for the VSE Management Software
and Server Migration Pack – Universal Edition. You must apply Insight Control Environment, VCEM, and
iLO2 licenses separately.
Licensing HP Insight Dynamics – VSE
The HP Insight Dynamics – VSE suite for ProLiant has separate license keys. HP Insight Control Environment
is a prerequisite for using the Insight Dynamics suite. HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager software is
installed along with Insight Dynamics suite on the Central Management Server, but is licensed separately
for c-Class blade enclosures.
To add an Insight Dynamics license key:
1. Select Deploy→License Manager.
2. Click Add Licenses.
3. Enter the key in the Specify Key String field.
4. Click Process.
5. When key details appear, click Add Licenses Now.
To apply the Insight Dynamics license key:
1. Select Deploy→License Manager.
2. In the Product License Information list, select HP Insight Dynamics, and then click the Manage
Licenses button.
3. A list of license keys appears. Click Apply Licenses.
4. Select the systems to license, and then click the Apply button.
5. Click the Next button to display the Deploy HP Insight Dynamics screen.
6. Select unlicensed systems, and then click the Select License button.
7. In the Licenses currently available for HP Insight Dynamics table, select the license to apply, and
then click the Apply License button.
After the HP Insight Dynamics – VSE license is applied, a warning appears if any Insight Control Environment
or Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager licenses are missing. HP Insight Dynamics – VSE features are degraded
until additional licenses are applied.
NOTE: If HP Insight Dynamics – VSE licensed systems are missing an Insight Control Environment license,
full functionality is degraded. To license a server or ProLiant blade, see Adding and applying licenses to
Insight Control Environment.
If c-Class ProLiant blades are licensed for HP Insight Dynamics – VSE but not for HP Virtual Connect Enterprise
Manager, full functionality is degraded. To license a c-Class enclosure, see the appropriate version of the
Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager User Guide.
Licensing HP Server Migration Pack – Universal Edition
HP Server Migration Pack – Universal can be licensed through HP Server Migration Pack – Universal or HP
Insight Dynamics – VSE.
You can apply HP Server Migration Pack – Universal licenses to the HP Server Migration Pack – Universal
application station License tab. One HP Server Migration Pack – Universal license is required for each
successful migration, unless a destination server is licensed through HP Insight Dynamics – VSE. For more
