2. Right click the server group to configure it.
a. Enter a name for the server group. Double-byte characters are allowed if you added the line
provider.requires.ascii=true to the <pool-id>.properties file.
b. Check “Require in Cloud.” This instructs IO to deploy the server group to an external cloud provider. If
unchecked, the server group can be provisioned to an on-premise VM Host or to the cloud provider Savvis.
(This checkbox appears only if the environment is configured for cloud provisioning, as described in
Configuring CloudSystem for bursting to HP Cloud Services and Configuring CloudSystem for bursting to
Amazon EC2.)
c. Specify the number of servers, processors per server, and memory size, OR
Specify the number of servers, and in “Cloud Server Type,” enter a valid server type recognized by the
cloud provider (for example, standard.small for HPCS or m1.small for EC2, found in the server types
configuration file). If specified, this server type is used for server creation, and the processor and memory
settings are ignored. If unspecified, the processor and memory settings are used to determine the server
type.
d. Do not select a “Cluster Type,” and do not check “Deploy as Linked Servers” or “High Availability.” These
options do not apply to cloud server groups.
3. Select the Networks tab.
a. Enter a hostname for the service. A hostname is required by IO, although it is not necessarily used to
customize cloud servers.
b. Select a network if you connected more than one network icon to the virtual server group.
c. For each network interface, specify DHCP for the assignment type.
