HP Insight Dynamics 6.2 Release Notes
Database synchronization error in logical server deployment with automatically allocated
IP addresses
When deploying a logical server with automatically allocated IP addresses, an occasional failure
occurs due to a database synchronization error. The error displayed is similar to the following:
“A general error occurred during reservation. To resolve this issue, make sure all resources are
available: ask the Administrator to refresh Logical Server resources in Virtualization Manager and
refresh HP IO resources in the HP IO console. Once all resources are available, submit this HP IO
template again. If this error persists, contact the System Administrator."
Suggested action
Resubmit the create (or add server) request.
Rack mount servers left in power-on state following service delete
If you use Insight Orchestration to provision rack mount servers, the servers will be left in a power-on
state following service delete.
Suggested action
1. Edit the properties file in the default location at C:\Program Files\HP\Insight
Orchestration\conf\hpio.properties.
2. Change:
# Indicates if power state is preserved on physical provisioning failure
power.preserve.onfailure = true
to
# Indicates if power state is preserved on physical provisioning failure
power.preserve.onfailure = false
3. Restart the HP Insight Orchestration Windows service.
Provisioning a non-VC physical server fails with "No MAC address was found" error when
incorrect server is allocated
During provisioning of a non-Virtual Connect physical server in an environment with multiple such
servers connected to disparate sets of networks, Insight Control server deployment completes the
operating system installation, but Insight Orchestration customization fails with the error
“CreatePhysicalServer completed with a failure status. No MAC address was found for network
network–name in HP Logical Service Automation (LSA) service.” The server selected for provisioning
is not connected to the network-name in the error message.
Suggested action
Organize non-VC physical servers into Insight Orchestration server pools according to their network
connectivity. Specify the appropriate server pool(s) for each Create Service request.
HP Insight Rapid Deployment software name changed to HP Insight Control server
deployment
HP Insight Control server deployment was previously known as HP Insight Rapid Deployment
software and was also referred to by the acronym RDP. Both previous names appear in the Insight
Orchestration application and associated help topics. These old names will be replaced in future
versions.
Suggested action
Note the name change when using the Insight Orchestration application and associated help
topics.
