NOTES:
• The 3PAR F-Class, T-Class, or P10000 FC array you use must be certified with the version of
Virtual Connect firmware supported by this version of Matrix OE, and it must be fully
operational before being configured with and used by Matrix OE.
• HP Storage Provisioning Manager 2.0 supports 3PAR Fibre Channel arrays but does not
support 3PAR features such as autonomic groups, virtual domains, and peer motion.
• F-Class, T-Class, and P10000 3PAR arrays require InForm OS version 3.1.1 MU1 or higher.
The current release of the HP Matrix Operating Environment continues to support pre-provisioned
Fibre Channel storage and adds support for on-demand provisioned storage though integration
with the HP Storage Provisioning Manager (SPM) 2.0. SPM supports the EVA, 3PAR, and XP
storage solutions. On-demand provisioning (including automated zoning of Brocade SAN
environments) is supported for the EVA and 3PAR storage solutions. For more information, see the

You must provide compatible connectivity to a compatible Fibre Channel SAN array.
Customer-supplied Fibre Channel switches to an external SAN must support boot from SAN and
NPIV functionality.
To obtain a list of switches and storage devices that are supported by Virtual Connect Fibre Channel:
1. Open a browser to the following website:

2. If you are a new user and do not have an HP Passport account, register for an account. If you
have an account, sign in.
3. Navigate to Other Hardware→Virtual Connect→HP VC 8Gb 24-Port Module.
Storage supported by Matrix recovery management
Matrix recovery management replicates data between the primary and recovery sites using HP
P6000 Continuous Access Software, HP 9000 Continuous Access Software, or 3PAR Remote Copy
replication software. Each site requires its own instance of HP P6000 software to manage the HP
P6000 EVA arrays or HP P9000 XP Storage Systems storage management station to manage HP
P9000 arrays associated with that site.
Matrix recovery management supports 3PAR storage arrays with Remote Copy synchronous
replication as follows:
• CLX/3PAR (v1.0 or newer) and 3PAR InForm CLI (3.1.1 MU1 or newer) must be installed on
CMS.
• Matrix recovery management supports any 3PAR array supported by CLX/3PAR
Matrix recovery management supports HP P9000 XP Storage System arrays with Continuous Access
Synchronous and Asynchronous Replication as follows:
• CLX/XP (v3.0.1 or newer) must be installed on storage management station running either
Microsoft Windows 2003 or Microsoft Windows 2008
• Matrix recovery management supports any XP array that is supported by CLX/XP
