HP Insight Dynamics- VSE for ProLiant Installation and Configuration Guide
Downloading HP Version Control Repository Manager automatic updates
After installation, an automatic update from hp.com populates HP Version Control Repository Manager
(VCRM) with the latest software and firmware components. When you configure the HP Version Control
Agent on your managed node to connect to the HP SIM server (see the HP SIM documentation for more
information), the repository is populated with components used to facilitate deployment and to receive
updates from HP SIM. VCRM will automatically connect to hp.com every day and download the latest
components at 6 p.m. local time.
By default, VCRM will use any proxy settings already set up in your browser. If your Central Management
Server (CMS) does not have Internet access, an event is created in VCRM to notify you that it was not able
to connect.
The schedule for the VCRM automatic update feature may be customized at any time by following these
steps:
1. Access http://CMS Name or IP address:2381 with the operating system administrator credentials
2. Click Version Control Repository Manager on the left navigation window
3. Select Home→Configure the repository and automatic update settings.
4. Click Next to accept the repository location.
5. Enter the interval, day, and time of the update.
6. Click Finish.
Version Control Repository Manager has many customization features to ease the deployment of HP software
and firmware. For more information, see http://www.hp.com/go/coremanagement and select System
Management Homepage→Support & Documents→Manuals.
