about your servers, it only includes server-specific information (such as events,
device information, and available diagnostic tools). This tool requires a browser
and may be run at the server's console or via a client on the site network.
Alert and Status Information on any Managed Networked Device
Viewable Via the Site Web
If you have HP TopTools Integrated Device Manager installed on your
network, HP NetServers and other managed devices (such as hubs, routers, and
desktop PCs) send alerts and device information to a web server designated as the
TopTools management server. The management server puts the information on
web pages which an administrator at a console may view using a browser. HP
TopTools Auto Alert includes a button that will launch HP TopTools Integrated
Device Manager if it is installed and includes the Server component.
Figure 1-2 shows how both alarm and server device information may be viewed
from a centralized PC console using the HP TopTools Integrated Device Manager
software installed on a management server. This setup is ideal for the large
business environment.
