HP TopTools Auto Alert Clear Alert and Clear All
After receiving an Auto Alert notification, you can clear the message by clicking
Clear Alert (to clear the message displayed) or Clear All (to clear all stacked
messages). If an Advice window is displayed, you must first close the Advice
window before you can clear a notification.
NOTE When you clear an Auto Alert message by clicking Clear, the
console does not retain a record of the cleared alert. However,
HP TopTools does log all alerts on the TopTools for Server's
web page. Click Launch TopTools for Servers to launch your
console's web browser and review the HP NetServer's alert
history.
Because each Auto Alert message appears in the same place on your console's
display, only the last alarm received is visible. Subsequent alerts are stacked in
chronological order behind the last Auto Alert notification. You can view other
messages by clicking the Next or Prev buttons. The number of messages received
appears in the upper right corner of the window.
After you click Clear to clear a displayed message, the next message appears.
After you clear all notifications, HP TopTools returns your console to the
application that was previously running. Clicking Clear All will clear all messages
whether you've seen them or not.
Using Instant TopTools
Instant TopTools allows you to obtain information about your servers from the
server itself. This may be useful if you opted not to install the HP TopTools
Device Manager software, but want a subset of the same information, or just want
to verify server agent operation. It does mean that to get this information, you must
physically go to the server and run Instant TopTools from the server's console.
NOTE There is NO Instant TopTools version for HP NetServers
running NetWare or SCO UNIX. For the latest information,
please refer to the system README file available from the
HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM main menu.
The Instant TopTools may be automatically installed on each Windows NT or
2000 server during the installation of the NetServer Agents. To run the Instant
TopTools on Windows servers, do the following:
